4 Diet Motivation Tips
September 29th, 2010I’m working hard ongetting and keeping in shape but a game of poker can so easily get me out of balance. A bad day at the tables often makes me struggle with my self-conficence which in turn gets me of my healthy eating and exercise regimen.
At that very moment, I just need to take a step back and refocus. What does the trick for me is a little inspiration, some positive thinking, and strengthened self-discipline. I want to share with you some easy tactics that helped me on numerous occasions to stick with my healty habits.
Read a healthy fitness or living blog.
When I face yet another bad beat and feel the urge of stuffing myself with a plate of nachos, I read some of my favorite health blogs. Theres almost always a recipe or a few words of advice that make me want to clear my head and get the focus back on health ánd my good poker game.
Visualize who I want to be
When I start to feel depressed when my opponent at the tables hits his two outer on the river, I think about my healthiest self. Going back to time when I felt strong, fit and vivacious always makes me want to strive for it again.
Make a change now
When thinking about getting back on track, do not postpone it till the first monday to came, rather make changes right away! Prepare yourself a healthy meal or get in yourshorts for an excercise run in the neighbourhood.
Call a friend
If the above doesn’t do the trick, I prefer to call a friend who is super-motivated and disciplined and I make plans to do something with him. Just grabbing a lunch together, chatting with him and hearing about his life makes me want to adopt similar changes in my lifestyle.
